Mother Original 11"x14" Relief Print Carved in linoleum relief, this block took over 30 hours to carve. Mother reflects on the tenderness of endings. At the center of the piece, a rabbit lies on the forest floor, inviting the viewer into that in-between space where loss and peace coexist. There is no resistance in the body, only surrender. In this stillness, the rabbit becomes both individual and symbol: gentleness, vulnerability, and the fragile beauty of being alive. Surrounding the central image, insects line the outer panels, marking transformation and continuity, decomposition, renewal, and the quiet labor of the natural world that ensures nothing is truly lost, only changed. A soft, lace detailed border frames the piece, delicate and feminine, holding the composition with care. It echoes a nurturing presence, offering tenderness around the act of letting go.
